Captain Bert Hinkler
Captain Bert Hinkler, born in Queensland, Australia, was a trailblazing aviator known for his pioneering solo flight from England to Australia in 1928. Piloting the Avro Avian G-EBOV solo, Hinkler covered over 11,000 miles in 16 days, halving the previous record and doing it on his own, for the first time. His ‘plucky’ flight earned him a place in the annals of aviation history.
