An exciting sale awaits, spanning fine jewellery, silver, horology, Asian works of art, Australian art, furniture, glass, textiles, books and collectors’ items.

Silver is led by a French First Empire coffee pot by Naudin Frères, Paris, in 950-standard silver with Bourbon armorial engraving and sculptural horse’s-head mounts (980g, 34cm), and a monumental 5,010-gram two-handled sterling gallery tray by Martin, Hall & Co., Sheffield, 1875. Further silver highlights include Georgian marrow scoops, a Georg Jensen Acorn caddy spoon, a William IV toast rack, and a Continental .800 cigarette case with polychrome enamel figural panel.

Gold jewellery is a particular strength. Colonial highlights include a 15ct gold bar brooch set with natural alluvial gold nuggets, Victorian rings in 18ct gold including a Birmingham 1870 turquoise and diamond cluster, a bright cornflower-blue Ceylon sapphire ring, and a sculptural 22.2-gram ‘Antiquity’ ring by Sandy Kilpatrick, along with a stunning mid-century  18ct Cleopatra-collar necklace of 50.8 grams. For the jeweller or collector of beautiful things, loose stones include a cushion-cut aquamarine of approximately 10.45 carats.

Watches include no less than 3 early Rolex, including a rare 9ct gold Rolex officers’ trench wristwatch, c. 1916 (Wilsdorf & Davis period); a gunmetal Rolex retailed by William Drummond & Co., Melbourne, c. 1908–13, and an early Rolex pocket watch also in gunmetal. Other pocketwatches include 6 in solid gold cases, including a  Movado 18ct gold open-face pocket watch with Grand Prix Bruxelles 1910 engraving; a Zenith 18ct gold half-hunter of 115.5 grams total weight; and many more desirable examples.

Decorative highlights include a large Continental Art Nouveau cold-painted terracotta figure of a lady with mirror, over a metre high, c. 1900; a Qing dynasty hongmu Official’s Hat armchair with carved openwork back splat; and a burr birch Art Deco dining suite with possible Victorian Railways provenance.

Asian ceramics from a collection put together in the 1970’s-80’s in Indonesia span a Khmer stoneware baluster vase of the Angkor period (11th–12th century), a SOng Dynasty ‘Hair’s Fur’ bowl of the 12th century, 16th century Ming dynasty Zhangzhou export wares, Thai Sawankhalok stonewares, Vietnamese, Chinese Longquan celadon, complemented by 25 lots of Indonesian ceremonial textiles include East Sumbanese hinggi kombu, Palembang limar songket and Torajan sekomandi cloth.

Further sections cover Art Deco glass and lighting, Australian paintings and works on paper, Kenneth Jack prints and drawings, colonial books with Victorian parliamentary library provenance, coins including Imperial Russian Gold, Bronze & silver, 18th-20th century, wide selection of world banknotes, and a wide range of decorative and collectors’ items.

And of course, plenty of bargains & box lots that have to sell!

You have multiple ways of taking part in the bidding:

1 – Via Invaluable: you can pre-bid on Invaluable, and leave the ‘maximum’ amount you have in mind for as many lots as you wish. You can then also bid using the invaluable app / webpage.

2 – In-house: if you are able to come to our Geelong premises, you can participate as our auction audience, and follow the sale on-the-spot.

3 – Absentee: we have an in-house Absentee service, where your bids will be taken and secured at the lowest possible amount. Simply fill in the downloadable form above, or call us. This must be arranged ahead of sale commencement.

4 – Phone: in some circumstances, we can do a telephone bid. We’ll call you ahead of the lot, and a member of staff will place your bids following your instructions. This must be arranged ahead of time, and is suitable for the more expensive lots.
