Kenneth Jack’s Studio Collection
Moorabool Auctions is pleased to offer works from the collection of the late Kenneth Jack (1924–2006) — one of Australia’s most beloved mid-20th century painters and printmakers, renowned for luminous watercolours and etchings of outback towns, industrial corridors, and the quiet life of Australia’s small railway stations.
What makes this collection exceptional is its provenance: these works were kept by the artist himself. Alongside major paintings are sketchbooks, proofs, student works, and a remarkable group of railway subjects spanning three decades — from a small oil inscribed “2nd ever painting” (1934) to polished lithographs and etchings of Geelong and Melbourne stations. Also included are working designs for a Victorian Railways logo refresh, commissioned through his father Harold, who worked in the Railways’ Advertising Division.
Early Works: Warrandyte & Geelong Station (1934–1939)

Melbourne: Jolimont Sidings & Flinders Street (1946)

Later Works & Institutional Subjects (1960s)
